This brief discusses how the Ecological Civilization principles promote economic development strategies that will have co-benefits on air pollution control in the People’s Republic of China. Air quality has improved since the People’s Republic of China launched its fight against air pollution in 2013. But most cities still cannot meet the prescribed national standards. The brief analyzes the country’s progress over the years and provides recommendations for reducing emissions to meet the national air quality standards.
