Cross layer design framework is a new model in network architecture design that takes into account the dependencies and interactions among layers and supports optimization across layer boundaries. The new idea behind this research is a cross layer framework between Application and MAC & MAC and Network layer. It is carried out for efficient MPEG-4 video transmission over 802.11e Enhanced Distributed Channel Access. The joint optimization between Application and MAC is proposed to provide adaptive mapping of video frames based on its priority information and network traffic load. The MAC and Network layer is jointly optimized to design congestion adaptive routing protocol that will allow video streaming in a multi hop mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed algorithm will be evaluated with the help of performance parameters such as Peak Signal to Noise ratio, Average End to End Delay, Throughput and Packet Delivery Ratio.en_US
