The objective of this study is to analyze the causes of learning difficulties faced by Dalit students in mathematics learning. This study is qualitative research and descriptive in nature. This is a case study where Dalit is case for this research. The researcher selected 5 Dalit students out of -19 Dalit students. These students were taken from Shree Bhrikuti Ma. Vi. Kanchanrup - 9, Saptari. For this study the children were selected by purposive sampling methods. The primary data were obtained by observation and interview with student, Mathematics Teacher, Head Teacher and parents of respondents and secondary data were obtained by school record files, attendance register etc. The researcher did interview and observation of all five students spending more than ten days to observe the students behaviors or activities and their actual causes of difficulties in mathematics classroom. The students were interviewed to analyze the causes of learning difficulties and impact of home environments on mathematics and interviewed of their parents, mathematics teachers and head master were done to investigate about their study and causes of difficulties learning in mathematics. The researcher used John V. Ogbu’s Theory of “Cultural Difference and Continuity Theories” to interpret the information and to get the conclusion. The researcher used Cross-matching or data triangulation method to analyze the collected data from classroom observation and interview with students, Parents, Mathematics Teacher and Head Teacher. The objectives of this study were to identify the access of Dalit students in mathematics learning, their challenges in access and to solve the challenges of Dalit students. The design of the study was qualitative with case study approach.I selected the Six Dalit students (3 boys and 3girls)secondary level in Bishnupur Gaupalika of Siraha district.respective parents, mathematics teachers were chosen for the study as sampleand I have used purposive sampling. Class observation and interview were the main tools for the data collection process. Based on reviewed literature and different concepts of theories, data have been analyzed and interpreted to find out the causes of challenges faced by Dalit students. I visited the sample school and concerning the mathematics teacher, Dalit failure students and respective parents. To solve the challenges in learning mathematics of Dalit students they should be motivated regular in school, necessary materials should be provided to them from the school, there should be discussion between Dalit student, parents and mathematic teachers about their student, there should be discount in tuition classes, there should be at least one Dalit teacher in each school. The economic help should be provided to them and the people who discriminate them should be discouraged.Item Dalit (Mahar of Darchula) Students Classroom Experience in Learning English Language(Department of English Education, 2023) Bist, Ramesh PrasadPromoting students interaction in classroom has become a focal point in the English language teaching. Classroom interaction refers to the interaction between the teacher and learner and among the learner in the classroom. The objective of my research was to explore Dalit (Mahar of Darchula) student’s classroom experience in learning English language and study classroom interaction of Dalit (Mahar of Darchula) students in English language classroom in terms of classroom activities. The study adopted Survey as a research design and set of structured questionnaires was used as the tool of data collection. The population of my study was Mahar students and English teacher of Darchula District. The sample for this study consisted of twenty five Mahar students of basic level in Darchula district and two teachers of basic level and purposive non random sampling procedure was used to select the sample. After the analysis and interpretation of raw data, it was found that Mahar student’s classroom experience in language learning were, English was difficult language to learn because of less speaking environment in the class. It was also found that the teacher used Nepali and Doteli languages in the class so that students can’t get more exposure in English language. Among four language skills writing activities was their favorite things. Similarly, interesting way of teaching, more pair work, group work activities, language game, and role play activity in the classroom help students to participate better in English classroom. Most of the parents of Mahar students were uneducated so that they can’t guide their children to do their homework, create learning environment and involve in children activities like reading. Similarly this study showed economic along with socio cultural challenge, upgrading system of our education system also responsible for students less progress in English class. This thesis has been divided into five different chapters. The first chapter deals with the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms. The second chapter includes review of related theoretical literature, review of related empirical literature, implications for the review for the study and conceptual framework. Similarly, the third chapter includes all the area of methodology. Likewise, the fourth chapter presents the analysis and interpretation of results and the fifth chapter includes conclusions and implications. Finally, the reference and appendices are included.Item Dalit students' participation in ELT classroom: A case of Shahidbhumi rural municipality(Department of English Education, 2023) B.K, BipinThis study entitled Dalit Students' Participation in ELT Classroom: A Case of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality aimed at finding out the performance of Dalit students and identify the challenges faced by the Dalit students at secondary level. Keeping the objective in consideration, all Dalit students studying in three different secondary level schools of Shahidbhumi as the population, however only 33 Dalit students were included using convenance sampling. The study included 10 Community and Institutional schools having both Magar and Dalit students as sample students. Altogether 200 students i.e., 100 Magar and 100 Dalit students were selected randomly from the sample schools out of two caste groups 50 were boy and 50 were girl students. The research was held on the objectives;Find out the Magar and Dalit students’ achievement in Mathematics at secondary level and Compare the Magar and Dalit students’ achievement in Mathematics at secondary level. To meet these objectives, 70 multiple-choice test items were developed based on secondary level Mathematics curriculum and subjected to pilot study to 12 students of grade 10 of Sorvodaya S.S Bhurung Tatopani, Myagdi. Items were analyzed statistically by determining the difficulty level and discrimination index of the items. Finally 50 items were selected for the achievement test. The achievement test was administered to the sample students of sample schools. All the answer sheets were collected and scored. The data obtained were tabulated and analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, variance and two-tailed t-test at 0.05 level of significance. From the analysis of the data collected and information, The mean score of the Magar students was 33.65 and a Dalit student was 31.25.There was significant difference between Magar and Dalit students' achievement in Mathematics at secondary level .There was no significant difference between comparison of Dalit boy and Dalit girl students and Magar boys student and Dalit boys students. There was significant difference in comparison of Magar boy and girl students and Magar girls and Dalit girl studentItem Motivating Factors of Dalit Students in Learning English Language(Department of English Education, 2023) B.K., Rudra BahadurAvailable with full textItem Participation of Dalit Students in Learning Mathematics and Its Relation on Mathematics Achievement(Department of Mathematics Education, 2017) Pariyar, Dhan BirNot availableItem Status of Dalit students in ELT classroom in Kalikot district(Department of English Education, 2017) Shahi, NarjungThis thesis entitled “Status of Dalit Students in ELT Classroom in Kalikot District” aimed at finding out Status of Dalit students in ELT classroom.
