Item Causes of Anxiety in Mathematics Learning(Department of Mathematics Education Central Department of Education, 2015) Neupane, SarojaMathematic and anxiety are considered as two sides of a coin. How anxiety is caused in learning mathematics is the main problem to have low achievement and performance in Mathematics in Nepal. The main objectives of this study were to find out the causes of anxiety in mathematics and to suggest the remedial measures. This study was done in two schools of Kathmandu valley. Mathematics teachers and students studying mathematics in higher secondary level within Kathmandu Valley were the population of the study. Two mathematics teachers, eight students of two higher secondary schools were selected as research participants. This is a case study about the causes of anxiety and remedial measure to reduce anxiety, so qualitative approach of research methodology was used. Mathematics teachers and students were interviewed. Most of the students didn‟t practice the mathematical problems is a main cause of anxiety in mathematics. Understanding the structure of subject-matter have resulted loss of self-efficiency to perform the mathematical task. The challenge of discipline on students implies dominated behavior toward teacher. Negligence to teachers implies directly or indirectly anxiety in mathematics learning. Good discipline creates the seriousness toward study and increases the creativity about the mathematical thinking. Such thinking is directly helpful in reducing to anxiety in mathematics. Teacher‟s negligence to check homework is also contributing to the negligence to do homework from the side of students. As it is hampering to practice more and students get anxious when they get heavy amount of the task to be done at a time during exam time. Effective teaching/learning program is helping for reducing anxiety in mathematics learning. Creative thinking skills are to be used by teachers to address the issue of anxiety in mathematics learning. Teachers need to create high quality mathematics programs than regular learning program such as Math Club, Math Quiz and Math Tour to motivate students in learning mathematics. As a result students can be engaged in different activities and enjoy in mathematics learning and understand the beauty of Mathematics. As a result students‟ level of confidence increased. High degree of cheating behavior didn‟t force to creative thinking about mathematical subject-matter. Negative attitudes have forced to neglect mathematics study. Consequently the anxiety in mathematics was increased. The polarization of students played the negative role for conceptual understanding. Polarization of students was created unreasonable distance between talent and weak students. Group of talent students hoped that they have strong mathematical concept if they have not and went downward with over confidence. Group of weak students thought that they didn‟t understand the mathematics subject-matter.Item Effect of Collaborative Learning on Mathematics(Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University Kirtipur, 2017) Yadav, Ram SagarThe major focus of this study was to explore "Effect of Collaborative Learning on Mathematics". The main objectives of the study were to compare the achievement of students taught through traditional and collaborative learning and to analyze there flection of teachers and students towards collaborative teaching. The design of the study was experiment non equivalent. The sample of the study was 53 students collaborative method made students easy to understand the subject matter. The Laliguras higher secondary school at 30 students and Srijarajan higher secondary school at 23 were the sample of the study students. The experimental group was taught using collaborative learning approach and control group was taught using traditional approach. The duration of experiment was 12 days. After completing the experiment achievement test was administered on both groups and mean scores were calculated. The differences in mean achievement score was tested using t-test for determining statistical significance between them. Then it was found that the collaborative learning strategy was better than the traditional approach learning mathematics and the collaborative method made students easy to understand thesubject matter.Item Effect of Praise on Student's Mathematics Learning at Grade V(Department of Mathematics Education Central Department of Education, 2017) G.C., Lok BahadurThe researcher made a thesis entitled ' Effect of Praise in Student's Mathematics Learning at Grade V'. This is an experimental research with pre-test, post-test non-equivalent group design which is intended to find the effectiveness of praise in teaching learning mathematics at grade V. The objectives of the study were to examine the effect of praise on the mathematics achievement of students and also examine the effect of praise on changing behavior of learning mathematics. The study was conducted in Kailai district where Mot Secondary school of Munuwa VDC was chosen for control group and Pashupati Primary School of Tikapur municipality was chosen for the experimental group. Twenty five students from Pashupati Primary school were selected for sample in experimental group twenty eight students from Moti Secondary were selected for sample in control group. The data collection tools of this research study were achievement test, observation and interview. Experimental period was of 21days in which 18 days for regular classes and 3 days for achievement test. The collected data were analyzed by using statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, variance and t-test. Also related theory were used to analyze qualitative data. During the experimental phase and analysis of data, the researcher concluded that the use of praise in teaching mathematics at grade V is effective. While using praise, the students' achievement increased and the completion of homework, classwork, participation in teaching learning process, creativity of the students and regularity in the school were also improved. With this reason the researcher concluded that the effective use of praise in grade V bring positive change in teaching learning mathematics. So, it is recommended that every mathematics teachers should use praise while teaching mathematics especially in basic level.Item Learning strategies used in learning English(Central Department of Education Tribhuwan Universify Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepa, 2016) Khadka, ShreedeviThe present study entitled "learning strategies used in learning english: a case Study of grade five" aimed to f,rnd out the learning strategies Used by students While learning the english language.
