Item ELT Pedagogical Practices in Public Schools of Doti District(Department of English Education, 2018) Bhatta, Ramesh PrasadThis research work entitled ELT Pedagogical Practices in Public Schools of Doti District was carried out to explore and analyze ELT pedagogical practices of Doti District in terms methodology and classroom interaction. Keeping the objectives in consideration, three English language teachers from two different schools were selected through purposive sampling procedure. Interview and classroom observation were used as main tools for data collection. For eliciting the data, the sampled teachers were interviewed and three classes of each teacher were observed for ten days. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive as well thematic tools. The findings of study show ELT pedagogical practices in public schools of Doti district were not copasetic. Several positive aspects of ELT pedagogical practices was found in the public schools of Doti district such as good trainings and management, sufficient and veteran teachers for English, and the priority on communicative approach. Despite the fact that, various burning problems were noticed such as; poor English spoken environment and minimum use of ELT modern technologies in the learning process, mixed ability classes, use of textbook as sole sources of teaching, exam oriented teaching and learning activities, negligence of listening and speaking skills and indifference to daily lesson plans. This thesis consists of five different chapters. The first chapter (i.e. Introduction) includes the background of the study, Statement of the problem, objectives of study, research question, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational key terms of the study. Likewise, the second chapter deals with the review of the related literature, empirical literature, implication review for the study and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with the methodology employed to conduct the study. It gives information about the design of the study, population sample and sampling strategies, data collection tools data collection procedures and data analysis and interpretation procedures. In the fourth chapter, collected data were analyzed and interpreted descriptively and narratively. Similarly, the fifth chapter includes the findings, conclusion and recommendations. Some recommendations related to policy, practices and further research are presented in this section. This chapter is followed by references and appendices.Item English Teachers' Motivational Techniques: A Case for Selected Public Schools in Dang (Deukhuri)(Department of English Education, 2007) Gyenwali, Him BahadurThis thesis entitled, English Teachers, motivational techniques in5 th grade: A Study of Selected Public Schools in Dang presents a clearpicture of English teachers' motivational techniques in teaching 5 gradeEnglish in the public schools. The data were taken from the teachers and students by applying thestructured and unstructured interviews. The data of teachers werecollected with in-depth interview and the data were recorded on tape andtranscribed in English because the teachers were not able to speak inEnglish fully. To obtain required data from students, they wereinterviewed individually using purposive sampling procedure. Additionaldata were gathered through classroom observation of English teachersteaching English in the 5 th grade and survey of students' opinion was doneby distributing the opinion checklist to the individual sources of eachschool. From each school, eight respondents (students) were selected,four boys and 4 girls using purposive sampling. The findings of the study are as follows:Most of the teachers have been found teaching English language without warm up activities and materials, therefore the students are notinterested in English language learning activity. The teacher teaching English inthe fifth grade have not been foundto participated the student in teaching learning activities, therefore thestudents have been found on motivated most of the time. The first chapter consists of general background, literature review,objectives of the study, significance of the study. thItem Prevalence of Intestinal Hetminths Parasites Among the Children in Chools in Devedaha Municipality of Rupandehi Distric, Nepal(Central Department of Zoology, 2019) Gaire, Krishna PrasadThe intestinal parasitic infection is more common in developing countries living under low socio-economic profile, with poor hygiene and sanitary condition. This study was carried out to measure the prevalence of intestinal parasitosis among the children of Public and Private schools of Devdaha Rupandehi. Total 150 stool sample were collected randomly from different public school (n=75) and private schools (n=75) and examined by direct smear method. Out of 150 samples of children 28 (18.667%) were found to be infected with one or more intestinal parasites. Among them A. lumbricoides (42.10% vs. 41.66%), Trichuris trichiura (26.31% vs. 25%) Hookworm (17.14% vs. 15.38%) and Taenia sp. (15.78% vs. 8.33%) were identified. The prevalence of infection were found higher in public school children (22.667%) as compared to private school (14.667%) where public school boys were (24.24%) were slightly more infected than girls (21.42%) while in private school girls (15.38%) were slightly more infected than boys (13.88%). The prevalence of parasite on the basis of age group (3-7) years in both public (25%) and private (18.42%) school is more than other age groups. The observed data were statistically analyzed with the help of Ms. Excel 2007, Chai square test was performed for the analysis of data, statistically no significant difference (P>0.05) was noticed in prevalence of intestinal parasitic infection among children of both public and private schools children. Children should be discouraged from activities such as finger sucking defecating on open place, nail biting habits, walking by bare foot, use of dirty drinking water etc. Basic health education program about intestinal parasitic infections should be conducted time to time, proper management of toilet, Pure and safe drinking water should be made easily accessible, which is important to overcome parasitic infection in school children.Item Teacher's Perceptions On Practices Of Emi In Public Schools Of Sindhuli(Department of English, 2021) Kaphle, Deepa KumariThis research entitled Teachers' Perceptions on Practices of EMI in Public Schools of Sindhuli. The main aim of this research was to find out the perception towards using English as the medium of instruction and its current situation. This study was carried out in public schools of Sindhuli district where EMI has been implemented. It was conducted among secondary level teachers using questionnaire and classroom observation as the tools. The major finding of this research was that the teachers were found having the positive perceptions regarding the implementation of EMI but they were also found to have been facing challenges to implement it effectively in the real classrooms. Majority of the teachers (i.e. 80%) repeated that English is an international language, so,EMI should be implemented in schools as it helps to provide quality education to the students. This research study was focused on the practice of EMI in the real classrooms, the majority of teachers, on the basis of the data, were found involving their students in interaction in the English language for implementing EMI effectively. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is introductory part. It includes background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study,research questions, significance of the study, de-limitations of the study, and operational definitions of the key terms are consisted in this chapter. Similarly, the second chapter consists of review of all the related theoretical and empirical literature their implications on the study and conceptual framework of the whole study. In the same way, the third chapter consists of methodological procedures used for carrying out the research. This chapter includes population, sample and sampling strategy, sampling procedures,research tool, data collection procedures,data analysis and interpretation procedures and ethical considerations. After that, the fourth chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of data. And at the end, results and the conclusion of the study has been presented after analyzing and interpreting data. The appropriate recommendations are suggested in the fifth chapter of this study and they are followed by the references and the appendices.
