Item Process of Teaching Listening at Secondary Level(Faculty of Education, 2010) Aryal, LaxmiThis research study has been prepared to find out the processes of teaching listening skill in secondary level of Nawalparasi district. In order to find out the processes of teaching listening two types of tools - questionnaire for the teachers and class observation forms–were prepared. In the questionnaire, different questions were asked related to teaching listening, especially in the process of teaching listening. The population of the study consisted of secondary level English teachers of Nawalparasi district. A set of questionnaire and observation forms are used to collect the data. On the basis of the collected data, the strategies employed by the teachers were determined using simple statistical tools like pie chart and tables. The findings of the study showed that only a few teachers tried to use appropriate process of teaching listening. The study consists of four chapters. The first chapter encompasses general background, review of related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. Chapter two deals with methodology which includes sources of data, sampling procedure, tools of data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Chapter three includes analysis and interpretation of the data. The last chapter, i.e. chapter four consists of the major findings and recommendations of the study. It also suggests some pedagogical implications.Item Provisions, Perspectives and Practices on Teaching Listening(Department of English Education, 2023) Bishwakarma, Hem RajThe research entitled "Provisions, Perspectives and Practices of Teaching Listening" is an attempt to find out the provisions, teachers perspectives and practices that the Basic Level teachers have in teaching listening in their classrooms. For this research, I interviewed the English teachers. Five private and five community schools of Itahari sub-metropolitan were purposively selected as respondents. The data was collected from semi-structured interview questions. The data were analyzed and interpreted to find out the various perspectives and practices. The study found that the teachers agree on the importance of teaching listening, however, the frequency and organization of the listening activities in the classroom varies. They also believe that the insufficiency of time leads to less frequent listening activities. They also face several challenges such as time, resources and examination pressures. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study and delimitation. Second chapter deals with the review of related theoretical literature, review of related literature and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with research design, sources of data, population and sample, sampling procedures, data collection tools, data collection procedures and method of analysis of data. Chapter fours deals with the results and discussions. Chapter five deals with the conclusion and recommendations.
