Item Potentiality of Eco-Tourism in Bajura(Department of Rural Development, 2011) Rawat, Birkha Bahadur“God’s earth in all its fullness and beauty is for the people”– Thomas Cook. By following this statement tourism industry has seemed to be a second largest industry in the world it contributed by 944 billion US$ in global economy from 920 million international tourist activities. It has seed that 684 million tourist involved in 2000, 920 million in 2009 and predicted 1.6 billion in 2020. Spain and Singapore are such a country which solicited tourist greater than hosts annually that was 36 million population and 40 million tourist in Spain 1981. Nepal has also earned to 287 million revenue through more than ½ million tourist activities in 2008. It has contributed 2.3 percent in GDP. But it is less than Spain (12%) and (7%) in France and Singapore. Although here in Nepal, there is no doubt that potentiality of tourism development is huge in amount. While realizing it's natural beauty and smiling rural people. Thus, without development and promotion of tourism rural development is impossible and without rural development overall development is quite impossible in that sense. Nepal as an attractive, pleasing safe and unique destination in global tourism map through conservation and promotion of natural, cultural, biological and human made heritage is the fundamental base of rural development through tourism in Nepal. In this regard, this present research study entitled "Potentiality of Eco-tourism in Bajura District: A Case Study of Bajura District" has been carried out with the objective, analyzing the area as a potential eco-tourism destination, about which many tourists don't know much till date. The main objective of the study is to analyze the potentiality of the eco-tourism development and identify the elements that can contribute to the development of eco-tourism in study area. To carryout the objective, according to social science research methodology 95 sample population were selected purposive sample random from each 27 VDC likewise 7 hotel owner and 21 tourist were also selected for information. From research study in was found that, this district has several aspects of eco-tourism products. The study has regarded highly potential for the promotion of eco-tourism because this district is rich in cultural and natural heritage it consists greater than 5000 plant spices greater than 1500 animal spice, assumed Budhinanda Lake (lies in the highest position in the world) and Badimalika temple, Khaptad National Park, Majestic Mountain etc. It is culturally and naturally significant where diverse ethnic groups, monuments, other temple are standing and surveying from long time. The Bajurali culture is the prominent cultural attraction for tourist and natural beauty of the Bajura also assisting in eco-tourism development. The selected district has great potentiality to attract tourists but is not given due consideration by related agencies and government. Most of the aspects of eco-tourism are rural, Cultural, Village, Adventure, sport, Honeymoon, agro-eco tourism etc. have found to be great potentiality there. MOCTCA has recently decided for decided for established tourism promotion in Karnali Chisapani (Thakur Dwar) to address the great potentiality of tourism development middle far- western regions which should be consider as a remarkable step. If the tourism promoted in this district it would be significant strategy for rural transformation which finally contributes for respect rural living standard, sustainable development in general and rural development in particular.Item Problems and Prospects of Tourism in Kanchanpur District(Department of Rural Development, 2011-04) Joshi, Dil RajTourism is a white industry in this modern world, tourism industry has been growing at an outstanding rate & it has appeared as the world's largest & greatest export industry. Tourism has a great role to play to improve country's image in international arena. Tourism is a diving force for the economic development of Nepal. IT is a major contributor to Nepalese economy. Tourism sector is economy improving living standards & reducing poverty. The research study entitled "problem & prospects of tourism in Kanchanpur District" has been carried out with the objective, analyzing the area as a tourism destination, about which many tourists don't know much till data. Kanchanpur Districts has enormous tourism product to attract the tourist it has a god gifted natural assets like. Shukaphanta wield life reserve. Mahakali river, Bedkot lake, Rani lake, Jhilmila lake, favorable climate etc. This will be the great interest for the tourist. But there are so many problems to develop tourism due to the lack of the baric infrastructure. There are 1 three star hotel, 16 local level hotel and 22 restaurants with provide the service for present demand a tourist in 2000, 46.67percent of tourists stayed are might which 37.50 percent stayed two nights. Similarly 12.50 percent stayed three nights and remaining 8.33 stayed for four night and above. Tourists are of different ages. 2.5 percent were below of 20 years of age which 62.5 percent were within the age of 21 to years. Similarly 25.0 percent of tourist was over 40 years. The main objective of the study is to analyze the tourism in study area. For this study researcher carried and various methodologies such as questionnaire method, observation of the study generates information regarding the subject matter. For the study culturally and naturally significant were ethnic groups temples, flora and faunna lakes are standing and surveying from long time. The Tharu culture is the prominent cultural attraction for tourist and Shuklaphata wild life reserve is also assisting in tourism development. The district has great potentiality to attract tourist but is nit given due consideration by related agencies and government. Most of the aspects of ecotourism as rural tourism cultural tourism, village tourism, adventure tourism etc have potentiality there.Item Tourism Development in Bhaktapur: (A Case Study of Three Squares of Bhaktapur District)(Department of Rural Development, 2007) Apsara Karki, ApsaraTourism is defined as a business activity connected with providingaccommodation, services and entertainment for people who are visiting a placefor pleasure.With the advertisement of the new millennium, tourist activity and itsimpact have become of great importance to a change world, where more andmoor people have the opportunity of becoming tourists. With the beaming of modern tourism in Nepal four decades back tourist activitiesin Bhaktapur also gained momentum as a “Cultural tourism” destination.Abundance of historic, artistic and unique architectures, monuments, culturallyrich festivals, dances, music, art and life style in Bhaktapur city have attractedmillions of tourists since then. The major sightseeing places in Bhaktapur includeDurbar Square, Taumadhi Square and Dattarey Square. This study in concerned of three squares (Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square andDattarey Square) and intended to find out trend of tourism and its socioeconomicimpact in the study areas. Especially these following specific objectives weretaken to analyze the study topic. Specific objectives are follows; To show the trend of tourist inflow in Bhaktapur. To examine the condition of cultural heritage in the study area. To identify the problems and prospects of tourist in the study area. Bhaktapur is known to be cultural heritage city in Nepal. Among the total touristsvisiting to Nepal are cultural tourists so this city ismain attraction for those alltourists who are interested in cultural heritage. UNESCO listed 10 heritages sitesof Nepal. Among them one is Bhaktapur Durbar Square. To maintain the dignityof the city in the world, a lot of works should be done such as environmentsanitation, reconstructed, well managed and preservation of cultural andhistorical places etc. Despite sign of a development in the heritages sites, thereis no room for gratification. Similar pattern of seasonal venation of tourist inflow is found in case ofBhaktapur as well October, November and March show the high inflow of touristin the study area. The inflow is equal in September, December, February andApril. The summer months June and July record the least inflow. Tourist inflow isrelatively high autumn spring and least in winter and summer seasons. Tourism is main sources of revenue for Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur municipality havenot adequate fund for undertaking this activity. Bhaktapur Municipality hasdecided to implement the tourist entrance fee in 1993 fee generating fund inorder to maintain historical structure in this town. Due to lack of proper management of tourism industry of Bhkatapur, tourists arefacing lots of problems (Hotel and restaurants, recreation center, tourist guideand transportation and physical facilities). Therefore well-managed tourismindustry should be launched as soon as possible.
