Abstract: The present thesis entitledA Study on Attitude of Kumal Students towardsLearning English. The objectives of the research were to find out the Kumalstudents attitude towards learning English in terms of textbook, curriculum,teaching and learning situation. The tools of data collection were open-ended &closed–ended questionnaire. The research participants were taken fromsecondary level thirty Kumal students of different schools located in Palpadistrict. The process of selecting sample population was non-random purposivesampling procedure. The unit of analysis was the English language class. Theresult of my study suggests that 70 percent of Kumal students have positiveattitude towards English language learning. However, they showed negativeattitude towards the availability of teaching material and exposure. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with theintroduction, background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives ofthe study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of thestudy and operational definition of the key terms. Similarly, in the secondchapter review of theoretical and empirical literature, implication of the studyand conceptual framework are included. Likewise, thirdchapter deals withmethods and procedures of the study,population, sample and samplingstrategy, data collection tools and techniques, data collection procedures anddata analysis and interpretation procedure.In the samevein,Chapter fourthcontainsanalysis and interpretations of results along with analysis of data andinterpretation of results and summary of findings.In the same wayfifth chapterincludes conclusions and recommendations in three different areas i.e. Policyrelated, practice related and further research related.Finally, the references andappendices are included.
