Abstract: The general objective of this study was to analysis of investment portfolio of commercial banks in Nepal. Specifically, the study sought to analyze the investment portfolio of commercial banks, to assess the risk of Nepalese commercial banks and to assess the return of Nepalese commercial banks. Secondary data were used for the study. Secondary data were collected from Annual report of selected commercial banks available in the websites of commercial banks.The target population of the study was commercial banks in Nepal.At present the reare 27 commercial banks in Nepal. Out of them only 3commercial bank are to betaken by using convenience sampling for the research work. These samples are related up to 6years transaction period from 2014A.D to 2019 A.D.Descriptive and analytical research design has been used in this study.Pears onian coefficient of correlationanalysis is made to determine the relationship of investment with other variables. For the organization of data Microsoft Excel was used for data analysis. The findings revealed that the positive correlation ship between the returns of the two securities is not risk divers if iable and the portfolio risk and return is more than average risk and return on government securities but it is less than average risk and return on loan and advance of commercial banks.
