Abstract: In the past, the IPOs of hydropower sector became the most neglected sector due to the lack of investor confidence in the sector. From 91.5 times IPO subscription of Ridi Hydropower Company, the subscription rate of IPO of Shiva Shree Hydropower Company shrunk to 21.51% of the total issue (SEBON, 2021). However, the investors are regaining confidence in the IPO of hydropower developers. Recent IPOs of 3 hydropower namely Mailung Khola Hydropower Company and Tehrathum Power Company limited were oversubscribed by more than 39 times.
Description: The major objective of this research is to explore the underlying reasons behind strengthening response from investors towards previously neglected sector i.e. IPOs of hydropower developers. examine the factors affecting investors’ decision making behavior towards IPOs of hydropower developers. measure the relationship between socio-demographic factors and investors’ decision making behavior on IPOs of hydropower developers.
