Abstract: | Paulo Coelho's The Pilgrimage is a novel about a middle-aged man's quest for the sword of power in Santiago, one of the most popular spiritual center of Spain. With a view to regain his lost sword the narrator undertakes a journey towards this holy place. The journey of the narrator is charged with such subtlety and mystery that the journey veers off towards different direction. The narrator, finally, seems to stand for everyone who happens to the sword of inner power and joy. At last, Coelho the narrator comes to realize the birth of godly awakening within him. He finds the sword within him. Thus the journey is characterized by parabolic dimension. To cut the long story short, the narrator's quest is aparable of inner quest. |
