Abstract: This research entitled ”Analysis of Poems in New Generation English” is fully shaped under the constructive suggestions and guidance of the team of English teachers of Sukuna Multiple Campus. This research is an attempt to find out the appropriateness of the poems included in the textbook ’New Generation English’ prescribed for the students of Bachelor first year in Education. The main objective of the research was to find out the appropriateness of the poems on the basis of the students’ level, interest, and the standard. The appropriateness of the poems was analyzed on the basis of the questionnaires prepared separately for the students of B.Ed. second year and the teachers teaching the same subject in the colleges of Morang district for at least a year. This research work consists of four chapters. Chapter one includes preliminary information of English language, literature and genres of English literature. This chapter also deals about the genres of Poetry, review of the related literature and objective of the study. Chapter two deals with the methodology adopted for the study. Chapter three is all about the analysis of the collected data and the chapter four consists of findings and suggestions.
