Abstract: The research entitled“Attitudes of Guardians towards English and Performance of Their Children”aims to explore the attitudes of guardians towards English language and the performance of their children.Twenty guardians and twenty children were selected from Bhorle VDC of Parbat district through purposive non-random sampling procedure to meet the objectives of the study. Questionnaire was designed as a major tool to collect the attitudes of guardians towards English language. The questionnaire included both open-ended and close-ended types of questions. Likewise, school record was used to collect the performance of the children. The findings of the research show that most of the guardians were found to have positive attitudes towards English language. The performance of most of the children was also found to be satisfactory. This thesis consists of fivechapters. Chapter one incorporates general background, statement of the problem, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, research questions or hypothesis, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms. Chapter two consists of review of related literature, theoretical or conceptual framework, and implications of the review for the study.Chapter three deals with the methodology applied to conduct the study. It consists of design of the study,population and sample, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedures and data analysis and interpretation procedure.Chapter four consists of results and discussions of the collected data. The fifth chapter incorporates summary, conclusions and implications of the study.
