Abstract: The thesis is an attempt to explore the differences in existential issues between two characters namely, Suyogbir and Sakambari in Blue Mimosa (Shirish ko Phool). The characters pose themselves to be existentialists in their own ways. Suyogbir exists with some crisis in his freedom and choice but nothing can hamper Sakambari's existence. She lives in her own way. The problem of study is how the two characters differ from each other though both of them exist in different ways characters. The main objective of the study is to dig out the factors bringing differences between their existence. The study has concluded that Suyogbir undergoes crisis because of his weak mentality and flexible nature whereas Sakambari succeeds because she is so strong in her will power and decision. Existentialism has been used as the tool of analysis.
