Abstract: The purpose of this study was to identify the problems faced by mathematics teachers in teaching mathematics and to find out the remedies of those problems in Parbat district. The descriptive survey research design was adopted to conduct this study. Forty secondary level mathematics teachers of Parbat district were selected for sample by stratified sampling method. Questionnaire and interview schedule were used as tools to collect data. To gather information, questionnaire was applied in all forty teachers where as interview schedule were applied in three teachers from those forty teachers.The researcher categorized whole data into problems related to student background characteristics, problem related to teacher training, problem related to student interests and participation, problem related to instructional method and material and problem related to school administration.The researcher used mean as a statistical tool for analysis and interpretation of data collected from questionnaire. The data obtained from interview schedule were used in the forms of direct quotes followed by its brief interpretation. Then the data obtained from these tools were triangulate. After analysis of data there searcher found that teachers were facing problems due to various background students in a single class, poor background of students in basic level, lack of refreshment training and seminar on mathematics, lack of sufficient teaching materials, unsuitable teaching method, lack of students interest in learning mathematics, lack of active participation of students in classroom activity, lack of reward and facility for good performance of teachers and irresponsibility of school administration to management necessary equipment for teachers and students. Active participation of student in learning mathematics, organization of refreshment training for teacher, manage necessary teaching materials, use suitable method in mathematical classroom are the key point to promote student achievement.
