Abstract: The present research study entitled 'Exploring Teachers' Use of Oral Feedback' aims at finding out the types of oral feedback used by the teachers at primary level. This study was carried out using both primary and secondary sources of data. I prepared an observation checklist which included nine items related to oral feedback. To collect primary data, I selected ten primary English teachers of Dailekh district using simple random sampling procedure and observed four classes of each teacher for four days. I analyzed and interpreted data descriptively which included teachers' use of oral feedback along with other related sub-items. It was found that most of the teachers provided oral feedback to their students' oral work. Majority of them (70 per cent) provided evaluative feedback to their students. Another finding to note here is that the strategic feedback was not used very often by teachers. The study also shows that teachers like to provide positive feedback rather than negative one. This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter contains general background, review of related literature, and objectives and significance of the study. The second chapter encompasses the methodology adopted to carry out the study. Similarly, the third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data. Finally, the fourth chapter consists of the findings and recommendations of the study.
