Abstract: The present thesis entitled ‘Transfer of Teacher Training’ aims at identify and analyze the teaching learning activities of trained teachers in terms of students’ motivation, presentation and practice, methods and techniques and evaluation system and examine transfer of training in teaching vocabulary. The researcher collected the data by observing the classes of English trained teachers with the help of checklist and distributing questionnaire to them. The researcher selected thirty trained teachers who were teaching English at the secondary level in both the public and private schools of Surkhet district by using non- random purposive sampling. This study shows that the role of training is essential in teaching language especially in vocabulary aspect and it has played a significant role for the professional, personal, quality, skill and all around development as well. Trained teachers’ status in every aspect of language teaching from students’ motivation to evaluation system is good. Most of the teachers are successful in transferring training in vocabulary teaching. The study is divided into four main chapters and other sub- chapters. Chapter one includes general introduction of the study. It also consists of review of related literature, objectives of the study, significance of the study and definition of specific terms. Chapter two deals with methodology, i.e. how the research was carried out. The study is based on both primary and secondary sources of data, sample population, sampling procedure, tools for data collection and limitations of the study. Chapter three deals with the analysis and interpretation of the collected data. The data were analyzed separately into two parts: (i) analysis and interpretation of data collected through class observation and (ii) analysis and interpretation of data collected through questionnaire. Chapter four incorporates findings and recommendations. On the basis of analyzed data, the findings have been listed and in turn, on the basis of these findings some recommendations have been made. Eventually, references and appendices are also given. The appendix part includes research tools and other informations.
