Abstract: Thetitle of this research is theProficiency of Grade Twelve Studentsin Subject-Verb Agreement. Themain purpose of this study was tofind out the proficiency ofthetwelfth graders in English subject-verbagreement. The sampled population for the study was from fourdifferent faculties:Education, Science, Management and Humanities offour different colleges of Kathmandu district.Twentystudents fromeach ofthose collegesincluding the equal number of boys and girlswere selected for the study. The researcher prepared different types ofobjective and subjectivetest itemsbased on English subject-verbagreement. The total proficiency in Englishsubject-verb agreement bythegradetwelvestudentswas found to be 29.86. It meansthosestudents' proficiency level was59.72%whichis not satisfactory.Girls'mean score was found to be slightly greater than that of boys by only0.68 (2.25%). The present study has beendividedin four chapters. The first chapter,introduction,includes general background, review of the relatedliterature, objectives of the study and significance of the study.Thesecond chapter, methodology,includes sources of data, samplingprocedures, research tools,methods of data collection and limitation ofthe study. The third chapter is concerned with the analysis andinterpretation of the data.The fourth chapter includes findings andrecommendations. It is followed by reference and appendix too.
