Abstract: While writing the novelPinjar, Amrita Pritam,uses the feminine quality as a tool to attract and win the consent of individual readers. By presentingtolerableand humanitarian character like Pooro, and by examining and observing her from every cornerof human behavior, Pritam tries her best to prove the fortitude and deterministic quality of women, which innately prevails on them. Pritamvalorizes thepolitics of feminine fortitude and forgiveness by contrasting it to the perpetration ofpatriarchaldirected towards women.
