Abstract: | Thisresearch basically makes a study of Derek Walcott's poetry in terms of the concept of cultural dualism. His poetry evokes the cultural root and mixed blood. Walcott's poetry is the best examples of the post-colonial situation that is created by the mixed cultures. Walcott seeks the cultural identity for his bio-culturally divided roots. The in-between space provides Walcott important frames of reference to locate his hybrid state of being. The in-between personae are the historical signifiers of the poet's consciousness. Thus, Walcott's in-between personae have a metonymic relationship with the in-between space and his twilight consciousness. |
