Abstract: In the thesis entitled "Writing Proficiencyof Grade NineStudentsof Bardiyaand Kaski Districts," the researchercollected the data by distributing test itemstothesixty students from differentselectedschools of Bardiya and Kaskidistricts. The datawere analyzed in order to find out the proficiency in writingofgrade ninestudents.The researcher analyzed the data according to the testitems, the researcher compared the writing proficiency of grade nine studentsof Bardiya and Kaski districts with the help of average marks obtained by thestudents, the researcher analyzed the data on the basis of gender. Theresearcher at first, compared the average marks of boys and girls of Kaskidistrict and then Bardiya district. The researcher again compared theaveragemarks of boys of Bardiya and Kaski districts and then average marks of girls ofBardiya and Kaski districts.On the basis of the findings,somerecommendations have been made to improve the existing pedagogicalsituation. Thethesisconsists of four chapters.Chapter one is introductionwhichincludesgeneral background, literature review, objectivesandsignificance of the study.Chapter two deals with the methodology applied to conduct the research. Thischapter consists of sources of data, sampling procedure, tools of datacollection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Thenon-random judgmental samplingprocedurewasused for choosing samplepopulation. Test items were the major tools of data collection. Chapter threeconsists of analysis and interpretation of the collected data. Theanswerswrittenby the students were analyzed with the help of tables and figures. TheChapter four deals with the findings and recommendations of the study.Findings were dragged out of the interpreted data and some recommendationsand pedagogical implications are provided. References and Appendices havebeen included in the final section ofthethesis.
