Abstract: In Nepal it is said that women have less socio-economic status as compared to men in the society. Most of the women are limited to household activities which they are never been paid off. These works are taken as less important. Men in the family would not like to do the household works. Even if women are busy on doing services, business or other earning-based activities they are still forced to do household works at the same amount as they do the household activities. The family and society are male dominant in every aspect such as social and economic aspect. The study titled ‘Socio-economic face of Women’ has dealt with their status on economic and social activities. At same time it has tried to dig out factors contributing the status. It is very important to know the cause of the women putting them behind. In Hindu religion, women are taken as Devi (Goddess). Form of Durga, Parbati, Laxmi, Saraswoti and all other Goddess are female God whom people including men worship everyday begging for the fulfilment of the dreams. Unfortunately, men oppress women at the same day of the worship. Reasons could be various such as male supremacy, historical culture, lack of education on both male and women, lack of awareness etc. Women do not have enough access to resources as same as men has supremacy on them. To go deep on national problems encountered it has taken it is important to study on women’s sociological and economical aspect. In that way the study has carried vital importance. It was a month deep study in the field taking supports from many professionals.
