Abstract
The present research entitled ‘Techniques Used in Teaching English at Lower Secondary Level’ aimed to explore the techniques used in teaching English at lower secondary level To meet the objectives of this research study, I selected a government school of Mahottari district. Classroom observation, diary were used to prove this objectives. Teachers were found to be using student centered techniques but it could be observed that they lacked practical knowledge in-using them appropriately. Students were heavily dependent upon the teachers. This thesis comprises five chapters. Chapter one is introductory one. It includes general background, statement of the problem, objective of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study, and operational definition of the key terms. Chapter two deals with the review of the related study and conceptual framework with the implications of the review or the study. Similarly, chapter three deals with the methodology adopted to carry out the research. It contains design of the study, population and Sample of the study and conceptual framework, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedures, analysis and interpretation procedure. Chapter four consists of analysis and interpretation of results and summary of findings .Similarly chapter five deals with conclusion and recommendations. It also deals with the recommendations related to the policy level, practice level and further research level. Finally, the reference and appendices follow this chapter.
