Abstract

This thesis entitled "Content validity of phonetics and phonology questionspaper in M.Ed. level" aimed atexamining the content validity of phonetics andphonology in terms of content coverage and content weightage. In order tofulfill this purpose, the researcher analyzed the question papers of the year2066-2070. Only secondary source of data were used. The research findingsindicate that the exam paper of phonetics and phonology Eng. Ed. 516 havegood content validity in terms of content coverage but low content validity interms of content weightage. The study has been confined into five chapters. The first chapter deals with theintroduction which consists of background of study, statement of the problem,objectives of the study, significance of the study, delimitations of the study andoperation definition of the key terms. The second chapter is related to thereview of related literature, which deals with theoretical literature, empiricalliterature, implication of the study and conceptual framework. The third chapteris related to methods and procedures of the study which deals with design ofthe study, population sample and sampling strategy, research tools, source ofdata, data collection procedure, and ethical consideration. The fourth chapterdeals with analysis and interpretation of result. The last chapter deals withfindings, conclusion and recommendations of the study. The findings havebeen madeon the basis of analysis and interpretation of data and on the basis ofthese findings some recommendations have been made in policy relatedpractice related and further research related.
