Abstract
This present study entitled Existing Situation and challenges in Managing ELT Classes at Secondary Level was an attempt to find out the existing situation of classroom management and also challenges in managing ELT classes at secondary level. This study was based on the problems related with physical facilities, teacher related problems, students related problems and interpersonal relationship problems. For this purpose, I selected fifteen government schools of Parsa District through purposive random sampling strategy. It was a survey research design. I observed ten classes by using observation checklist and administered a set of questionnaire for 30 teachers. The collected data were interpreted and analyzed both descriptively and statistically. This research concluded that the existing situation of classroom management is progressive. It can be claimed satisfactory but not so good and it needs much more improvements and efforts. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduction of the topic in which background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, signifance of the study, delimitations of the study, and operational definitions of the key terms. The second chapter covers the review of related theoretical literature, review of related empirical literature, implications of the study and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with the methodology which includes design of the study,population,sample and sampling strategy, research tools, sources of data, data collection procedures, data analysis procedures and ethical considerations . Likewise, the fourth chapter presents analysis and interpretation of the data which includes analysis of data & interpretation of results. Fifth chapter deals with the findings, conclusion and recommendations, followed by references and appendices.
