Perception of English Teachers on the Use of Textbook

Abstract

The present research entitled Perception of English Teachers on the Use of Textbookis done in order to find out the perception of English teachers from both schools (public and private) in Rasuwa district, on the use of textbook.I used purposive non-random sampling procedure. Moreover,I selected twenty-five teachers from government aided schools and five teachers from private schools for the collection of data. The main tool of my research study was questionnaire that included objective and subjective types of questions.I distributed the questionnaire to the teachers and collected the answer sheets then tabulated the data. The major finding of the study was that the teachers(government aided and private schools) used textbook as the onlyimportant instructional material to handle teaching learning program in the remote part of country like Rasuwa district.Moreover, majority of the English teachers (93%)used textbook for their teaching learning purpose in Rasuwa district. The study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter consists of the background, review of the related literature, objectives and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology applied to carry out the research work. The third chapter presents the analysis and interpretation of the data.The last chapter includes the findings of the study and some important recommendations followed by references and appendix.
