dc.description.abstractThis thesis delves to find out the volume of forbearance faced by Afro- Americans in America as narrated in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It is a chronological series of facts and realities realized by black people that are transparent in the Afro-American context. Political, cultural and social norms are touched upon to explore how the Black American people resist and tolerate their miserable conditions. Being a deep-rooted reality of the Americans, racism still plays big role to shape the structure of present community in America. This thesis aims to realize the pain felt by the minorities around the world. Racism and its dimensions are the most focused terms in this thesis. Even if the color discrimination is more specific problem glanced by the text, it tries to symbolize the vast area of the racial segregation. Title illustrated as 'Racism and Its Characteristics' in the second chapter has been included for the same purpose in the thesis. Likewise, judgment of the community in terms of racism is another focused subject matter in the thesis. Amidst the ups and downs in the lives of black people, their forbearance is always painful. Poverty, geopolitics and structure of society are the major causes of pain felt by the black people.en_US
