Abstract
This thesis entitled "Dimensions of Rural Development Practice: A Case of
Nirmalpokhari VDC, Kaski" has general objectives as to access the different
development activities in the VDC and to analyze the participation and empowerment
of the woman in the program through Village Development Program. Needless to say,
this program is focused on villager's participation in different activities of VDP. This
study is based on group approaches.
The study has been focused on the assessment of the program on the
beneficiaries and living standard, public participation in different program in
Nirmalpokhari VDC, Kaski district. It also shows the improvement of villagers
including woman through the VDP.
The data have been collected from primary and secondary sources. The primary
data has been collected by making structured questionnaire and interviewing the
sample respondents. Data analysis has been done using descriptive analysis method.
This method helps to illustrate the status of the villagers especially the woman
participation in different income generating program in VDC.
This study is focused on impact of VDP concerned with beneficiaries, earning
and living standard. The findings of the study show the participation of villagers
in different VDP and the role of VDP to bring them in mainstream of
development.
Hence, it is concluded that the VDP impacts positively on villagers,
empowering them to develop self confidence, independence and uplifting economic
status in the study area.
