Abstract
This research entitled ‘My English Book: Textbook Analysis’ is an attempt to analyze the physical, academic aspect of textbook. In order to accomplish the objectives of the study, the researcher sampled 10 schools of Sukuna Resource Centre of Morang district. From these schools, 10 teachers and 60 students were selected and different sets of questionnaires were distributed to them. Data were collected from them and analyzed using a simple statistical tool like percentage. Similarly, the researcher himself observed the classes of those teachers using an observation form and data and data from observation were also analyzed by percentage tools. The researcher found that subject matter is interesting and understandable to the students. The exercises encourage the students to learn more. The textbook is easy for handling and carrying. Printing is free from errors. Subject matter talks about the Nepalese culture. The content does not talk about human rights and technological world. Exercises are not sufficient for practice. The grammatical rules and exercises are not sufficient.
This study consists of five chapters. Chapter – I deals with the background of the study, statement of the problem, significance of the study, delimitation of the study.
Chapter – II consists of review of theoretical literature, review of empirical literature, implications of the review of the study and conceptual frame work.
Chapter – III consists of design and method of the study population and sample population, sampling method, study areas, data collections tools and techniques, data collection procedures, data analysis and interpretation.
Chapter – IV deals with the analysis of data, interpretations of the results and summary of finding. Chapter – V is about the conclusions and recommendations that have been made on the basis of findings of the study.
