dc.description.abstractThethesis entitled "Teaching Writing Through Process Writing" aimed atdeveloping writing skill through process writing in written composition. Theresearcher herself was involved in the experimental teaching for the purpose ofcarrying out the research. Theresearcher collected data from the sampledpopulation of 14 students of grade nine from a private school of Kaski district. Apre-test was administeredby using the test items prepared beforehand. After thatthey were taught using proper process writing mainly being based onWhiteandArndt(1991). The researcher taught to the studentsfor three weeks. After theexperimental teaching, a post-testwasadministered and results of both the testswere compared to find out the development of the students in free compositionthrough process writing. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is an introductory chapter. Itis a composite of the general background, writing skill, and its importance,mechanicof writing, characteristics of good writing, stages of teaching writing,process writing, steps of process writing, review of the related literature,objectives of the study and significance of the study. Chapter two deals with themethodology adopted to carry out the research. It consists of sources of data, toolsfor data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Chapterthree consists of analysis and interpretation of the data. Chapter fourcontainsoffindings and recommendations. Finally, references and appendices are listed.en_US
