Abstract
There have been various studies regarding impact of soft skills in project
management within various sectors. Likewise this study also aims to examine soft
skills and their impact for the success in project management in banking inside
Kathmandu valley. A Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)
are used in the study. The research study was designed to investigate the impact of
soft skills mainly leadership skills and communication skills for the success in project
management among banks within Kathmandu valley. In the study, two variables are
taken as independent variables: leadership skills and communication skills. Here,
project management (success rate) is taken as the dependent variable. Data
collection is done with the help of structured questionnaire which was distributed
among 85 bankers who have handled and executed projects in their workplace out
of which 69 bankers represents the sample size. The research design embraced in
the study consists of descriptive, relational and casual research designs. Various
tools used for data analysis were mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance,
correlation, regression etc. The findings revealed that leadership skills and
communication skills have significant impact on project management success rate in
banking situated within Kathmandu.
