dc.description.abstractThe study is based on the primary data, collected from Magar community ofBongadovan VDC, ward number 2, 7and 8. The study is conducted among 150females. The objective of the study is to access the knowledge and awareness of DVAWand the socio-economic impact on domestic violence among Magar women.Further the research has aimed to study the situation of behavior on reportingthe incidence of domestic violence and to access the knowledge about legalprovision for DVAW. The majority of respondents are from the age group 20 to 29. Similarly,majority of respondents are living in nuclear family i.e,71.3 percent. Highestpercentage i.e. 60 percent respondents are following the agriculture occupation.Only 40.7 percent respondents are literate that means majority (59.3%) ofrespondents are illiterate. The level of knowledge about the domestic violence against womenis better instudy area. Radio / Television is the most effective source of information i.e.65.9 percent. All respondents have an experience of at least any forms ofDVAW. Among them highest percentage of respondents have an experience ofviolence act due to alcoholism i.e. 85.3 percent followed by verbal assault i.e.53.3 percent. But it has seen that no one have an experience of dowry relatedviolence. Majority (52.7%) of the respondents are victimized by their husband. Women in Bongadovan VDC of Baglung are far from the multi-media whichprovide the new information about country and abroad. They are fully dependupon husband or male person of the family. There is not any responsibleorganization to listen voice of victim women and others. They are deprivedfrom education, communication and information (ICE). They always keephope to strong political commitment and towards women's rights.en_US
