Abstract
This study entitled “Use of Newspaper Cutouts for Teaching Vocabulary”aims at finding out the practices of using newspaper cutouts for teaching vocabulary in secondary level and exploring the teachers’ perceptions on the role of using newspaper cutouts for teaching vocabulary. I used non-random purposive sampling procedure to selectthirty secondary level English language teachers teaching in private and public schools in Banke district. I used questionnaire including both the close-ended and open-ended questionnaire as the research tool. The collected data have been presented in tables and pie-charts; and analyzed and discussed qualitatively and quantitatively. The major findings of the research showed that the use of newspaper cutouts was ‘occasionally’ practiced in schools as most of the teachers only ‘occasionally’ used newspaper cutouts for teaching vocabulary. However, most of the teachers supported that the using newspaper cutouts played significant role in teaching vocabulary.
