dc.description.abstractThe study's primary objective is to analyze the relationship among emotional intelligence of employees and employee performance in Nepalese banks. This study used descriptive as well as causal comparative research design to analyze the data. In this study the dependent variable is employee performance and independent variables are self-regulations, self-awareness, motivation, empathy and social skill. To analyze the relationship among the dependent and independent variables correlation and multiple regression model were used. It was found that that employees’ self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skill at workplace increases the work performance in Nepalese banking sector. Therefore, it is important to stress how emotional intelligence affects employees' behavior while they work in banks, as well as how well they do tasks and handle unexpected events that may happen. Similarly, the effect of emotional intelligence on employee performance of private banks employees found that there is significant positive effect of self-awareness, selfregulation, motivation, empathy and social skill on performance, meaning that emotionally fit employees in the banking sector can do better job performance. A bank that employs people with strong emotional intelligence skills may be able to outperform its rivals. For its staff to perform better and have positive client relations, banks must set up emotional intelligence training programs.
