dc.description.abstractThis project, with the thorough analysis of Cosmopolis by Don Delillo, tries to explore the negative effects of globalization on human beings. Emphasizing the futile daylong Journey of the protagonist Eric Packer, who is one of the representative character of the globalized society, Delillo Sheds light upon the bad impacts of globalization. Delillo's protagonist, Eric Packer's downfall starts with the fall of Yen in the international financial market. As a head of Packer Capital/manager of other people's money, he is responsible for the financial crisis and his indifferent behavior towards his great responsibility ultimately does not only lead to his own downfall, rather it ruins the future of the whole city men. So, by showing the negative effects of local happening affecting world widely, Delillocritiques the very propositions of globalization-narrowing down the whole world into a single village to make the life easier, easy to assess to every field of life etc. By showing the death of Eric Packer, the representative character of that globalized society, Delillo critiques the phenomena of globalization.en_US
