Abstract
The study on 'Contraceptive Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Among Dalit Community' has been carried out using primary data obtained from 146 respondents of 125 houlehold for currently married women aged 15-49 years in the study area. In this study knowledge, useand reasons for non-use of contraceptives among currently married women aged 15-49 years are examined.
The total sample population is 822 in the study area. Among them,407 are males and 415 are females. The sex ratio is 98.07. Majority of currently married women (93.15%) are familiar with at least one contraceptive method. 56 percent are ever user and 51 percent found current user in the study area. 27.8 percent currently married women are not using contraceptive due to their desire for son and 25 percent didn't like to use contraceptive due to their desire more children.
There are curvilinear relationship with number of living children,education of women and current users of contraceptives. Non-linearrelationship is found between age of women and current users of contraceptive. The positive relationship has been found with occupation of women, number of living sons and current user of contraceptive.
