Abstract
The Wake of the White Tiger by Diamond Shumshere Rana depicts the notion of conflict for power among the members of the same Rana family. By applying the power theory, the researcher has examined the incidents and events which makea clear point of conflict for power that took place during the Rana regime in Nepal. This is a historical novel which contains the story of Rana ruling family and also shows the story of conflict for power. As power is the source of wealth and status most of the characters are in the race to grab it. This is a novel in which writer has very minutely presented the incidents of conflict for power. Characters like DhirShumshere, Bir Shumshere, Trailokya, Narendra, Chyangba, Kesaer, Havildar and others are greedy for power and they are ready to do anything to get power. Thus,The Wake of the White Tiger brings forward the fact of conflict for power through the story of Rana family of Nepal.
