dc.description.abstractThis study on Sanitary facilities and their management practices in higher secondary schools was carried out in order to identify the sanitary facilities and their management practices. A month long field operation was launched were 3 higher secondary schools (Public Bindeswari,Happyland, and Laligurans) there Headmasters,Health Education Subject Teachers and 45 students of class ten were randomly sampled and interviewed through structured interview schedule and observation check list. The analysis and interpretation of data was done in different tables and figures according to the purpose of the study. Data were converted into simple percentage basis . The major components of sanitation facilities like: adequate land, gardening, planting classroom, ventilation, lighting, dustbins, classroom cleanliness, toilets and water supply are very important factors to create proper healthy school environment in the school . Based on above findings and recommendations , it is concluded that school health committees should be formed in order to manage sanitary facilities. Furthermore , health . education should be provided to all school personnels for sanitary management , that helps in maintaining good sanitary condition in and around school premises.en_US
