dc.description.abstractThe present study entitled “Verbal Affixation in Bjhangi, Nepali and English” aimed to identify verbal affixation system in the Bajhangi dialect and compare and contrast the verbal affixes and the rules for verbal affixation in the Bajhangi, Nepali and English languages. Questionnaire and interview schedule were used to collect the required data. The Bajhangi native speakers were the primary resources of data and different books, journals and research reports were the secondary sources of data. On the basis of analysis and interpretation of data, it is found that Bajhangi dialect has different verbal affixations than Nepali and English. Bajhangi, Nepali and English have only person and number marker suffixes. Bajhangi lacks infixation system, it is also the case in Nepali and English as well. English has two tense marker suffixes but in Bajhangi and Nepali have three tense marker suffixes. This study consists of four chapters. Chapter first is an introductory one, which deals with the general background of the study, linguistic scenario of Nepal, the English language and its importance in Nepal, an introduction to Bajhangi dialect, affixation, review of related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. Likewise, the second chapter deals with the methodology applied to conduct the study. It consists of the sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, research tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Similarly, the third chapter deals with analysis and interpretation of the raw data obtained from the respondents. The chapter four deals with the findings, recommendations and pedagogical implications of this study.en_US
