dc.description.abstractThe study entitled Women Empowerment through Micro-EnterpriseDevelopment Programme. A Case Study of Nuwakot District was carriedout in Nuwakot district based onwomenentrepreneurs who organized underthe MEDEP family,with objectives to analyze the role of MEDEP in womenempowerment, status of women economic empowerment, find out theconstraints for economic empowerment of women faced by MEDEP andrelevant recommendation for better economic empowerment of women.Nuwakot district is multi -ethic, multi-cultured, multi religion based societywhere development of micro-enterprises is highly potential for the enlistmentof marginalized section ofthesociety. The This study was conducted by using exploratory, descriptive as well ascase study research design Primary as well as secondary data was taken forthe analysis of both the qualitative as well as quantitative data. Forgenerating the required data the research techniques like questionnairesurvey, key informants interview, focus groupdiscussionwas applied. Byusing simple random samplingmethod seventy women entrepreneurs wereselected from municipality as well as rural market center developed byMEDEP. Available primary as well as secondary datawereprocessed andanalyzed with some simple statistical tools as average cross tabulation bycomputerized statistical methods. Economic empowerment of women through MEDEP has vital role atNewakot district such as group formation of entrepreneur which helpsinstitutional development, demand base training with institutional creditfacility in the whole group responsibility without collateral. Exposures toneedy entrepreneurs which increase mobility as well as enhancement inknowledge on their own enterprise to the help feel enhancement in control over household economy and increase the confidence to continue theirenterprises as well as group saving and mobilization. Major indicator of women empowerment as the ownership in land andproductive resource is slowly increased due to installment of enterprise intheir own name. Increase additional income from leaser time, which helpincensement in household income and total GDPof country. Women whoparticipate in MEDEP family are get facility of institutional credit in groupresponsibility which can help for new venture. Women entrepreneurs usednon- renewableenergy source for cooking.Due to lack of collateral, longprocess of credit facility and problems of institutional credit the betterempowerment women entrepreneursgroupscan not flourished.en_US
