Abstract

Rukmani, the central character of the Novel, is an embodiment of courage and fortitude. She bears all the hardships in her life without any feeling of frustration and depression. She never yields to despair throughout her life. She looks for a sign of life in every situation and despite various obstacles, she continues her Struggle for Existence with an optimistic vision even in a pessimistic situation.
