dc.description.abstractThis research attems to find out the effectiveness of oral drill in teachinggrammar. For this purpose, the researcher collected data from the students ofgrade five studying at Shree Satyawati Higher Secondary School, Damauli,Tanahun.The total number of students were forty and the students were givenpre-test and post-test using the grammatical test items.A pre-test was taken todetermine the proficiency of the students at entrypoint.Then they were dividedinto two groups on the basis of the odd-even ranking of their roll no. The post-test was administered after twenty-six days teaching using drill technique togroup A (Experimetal ) and by using conventional way of teaching to group B(Control). After taking pre-test and post-test,their scores were tabulated andanalyzed intermsof average difference and its percentage . The pre-test andpost-test results of the two groups (A and B)were compared to find out theeffectivenessof drill technique.Finally, it was found that the group taught withusing drill technique performed better than the group taught with conventional(usual) way of teaching.Hence,it is concluded from the study that drilltechnique has positive effectivein teaching grammar Group A has increased itsaverage percentage with 83.79 against group ‘B’ which has increased itsaverage percentage with 64.09. The present study consists of four chapters. Chapter one consists of generalbackground,review of related literature,objectives and significance of thestudy. Chapter two deals with the methodology of the study.It encompasses thesources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, tools for datacollection and limitation ot the study. Chapter three is concerned with theanalysis and interpretation of the collected data .The data were tabulated andanalyzed on the basis of the test items.
