Abstract
The present thesis entitled “Proficiency of Bachelor Level Students in Using Punctuations” aims at finding out the Proficiency of Bachelor Level Students in the use of punctuation marks. For this purpose, the researcher selected Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus and Gograha College of Biratnagar, Morang district, using random sampling procedure. The total sample population consisted of 80 students from the faculty of Education (B.Ed 1st Year), faculty of Humanities (B.A 1st year), faculty of Management (B.B.S 1st year) and faculty of Science (B.Sc 1st year). This research work was based on written data only. Test items were used as the tools for the data collection. On the basis of the collected data, the students’ Proficiency on Punctuations was determined. The data was analyzed an interpreted descriptively using simple statistical tools such as tables, simple bar graph, rank and percentage. The main finding of this study shows that Proficiency of Bachelor Level Students in Using Punctuations was satisfactory.
This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents a short description of punctuations including its use and significance, review of literature and objectives under different headings and sub headings. The second chapter includes the methodology adopted to carry out the research work. Similarly, it includes the sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, tools and process of data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter consists of the analysis and interpretation of data. At the end, the fourth chapter consists of the findings and recommendations with pedagogical implications.
