dc.description.abstractThis research has been intended to examine the Socio-economic Condition of Women in Rural Nepal of Chhatragunj VDC Ward no 5, Arghakhanchi District. The Specific objectives of this research work are to find out socio-cultural of women,to find the economic condition of women,to find the educational condition of women and find the role of women in household decision making process. This research had been conducted on the woment of Chhatragunj VDC Ward no 5 of Arghakhanchi District out of 90 households,45 household have been taken as sample for the study.Both primary and secondary data were taken.To collect data different technique like household survey,key informant interview,focus group discussion were used.For this semi-structured questionnaire,interview checklist and guidelines have been used as tools for data collection. Majority of women have dominated role in socio-cultural sector.Many of them are uneducated,their econocic status is in lower level,they are deprived from roles decision making and responsibilities,economic educational activities,while decision-making is very low in such sector.Decision making of Women is contradictoraly low than role and responsibilities in each sector while these male counterparts have comparatively high decision making majority of women have limited knowledge about gender equality which are in favour of parental property right to them with special focus on parents property rights to them. Based on the findings from research some recommendations are made like the overall literacy rate should be increased with special emphases upon promoting higher literacy rate amoung women.Economic Statues of women should improve. Promotion of joint decisions within the household should be stressed upon via informal education programmes .NGOs and CBOs which can play positive role to increase the women’s participation in every community activities.All types of discriminations against women should be abolished by the law.It is necessary to conduct various types of income generating activities through VDC & DDC for the women.en_US
