| dc.description.abstract | The present study entitled Grade Five Students' Awareness of Language Functions and Exponentsaimed at finding out the students'awareness of language functions in terms of the exponents prescribed by class five curriculum. This study was based on the primary sources of data. Thesample population of the study consisted of thirty students studying in classfive at community School of Chitwan district. The requireddata were collected by asking open ended questionnaire to the selected respondents. Theresponses were collected and analyzed. It was found that the level of students was different. In the same way, the awareness of the students in language function and exponents was satisfactory. The major finding of the study was that the students had different levels ofawareness in different language functions in terms of criteria such as accuracy, fluency, appropriacy and range of vocabulary. This thesis has five chapters: Chapter one introduces the study in term of background of the study, statement of the problem, objective of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and finally operational definitions of the key terms which are used in this research. Chapter two consists of review of related theoretical and empirical literature. In the same way, it incorporated implication of the review of literature and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with methodology adopted to carry out research. It consists of data, sample population, sampling procedures, tools, process of data collection and data analysis and interpretation procedures. The fourth chapter deals with the result and interpretation of the data. Chapter five consists of the summary, conclusions and implications of the study. Finally, the references and the appendices which are necessary for the validation of the research are also presented. | |
