Tenseand Aspect System Between Kewarat and english

Abstract

The present study entitled ‘TenseAspect Systembetween Kewarat and English’ has been carried out to find out the main similarities and differences between Kewarat andEnglish.The researcher collected the data by visiting, distributing tools and interviewing withforty Kewarat native speakersof Kewarat from Sunbarshi municipality of Morang district.The researcher only consulted with the educated male and female native speakers. In courseof his research work the researcher also contacted, interviewed, telephoned and consulteddifferent research materials, books, journals and thesis in order to make the researchcomplete and valid. After the collected data was analyzed and interpreted descriptively, theresearcher also analyzed on the basis of similarities and differences between two languages.After collecting, analyzing and interpreting the data, the researcher found that theAspectsystem of Kewarat and English are different inpresent,past and future tense ofgrammaticalaspects. However, there are some similarities between them. The present study consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with general background,statement of the problem, significance of the study, objective of the study and delimitation ofthe study, definition of the terms used and contrastive analysis. Second chapter dealswith thereview of the theoretical literature and empirical literature. Similarly, third chapter includesmethods of the study, population, sample and sampling strategy, study area, data collectiontools, techniques and procedure. Forth chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation ofthe data obtained from the field. Finally, the fifth chapter deals with findings, conclusion andrecommendations for the further improvements.
