This research shows how the central character, Henry, in Hemingway'sA Farewell to Armsstruggles for his existence amid the horror of war. His struggle is against the hostile and alien world. He ultimately becomes disillusioned of war and indifferent universe. He accepts the finality of death knowing himself to be caught in a meaningless of existence. He searches the meaningand order through the struggle, which is life, amid the sorrow and pain, without complain. With these sorrows and pains, he searches for the value and meaning of life out of such dilapidation, which enables him to overcome the anguish and contingency by giving him the rich feeling of his own existence.en_US
