The thesis entitled “Cultural Bridge in Chetan Bhagat’s 2 States has tried to explore the multicultural setting giving rise to cultural clash, and possibility of alignment through cultural bridge. In the novel, the major characters are from two distinct cultures that follow different norms and values. The main issues of the thesis are: What different cultures the characters come from, Why some of the major characters get involved in conflict, and how they come to reconcile. The study has revealed that the lead characters come from two diverse cultures, that is, Tamil culture and Punjabi culture. Differences in cultural practices have created a type of antagonism among the characters. The parents of the young couple do not come into agreement regarding the marriage between Krish and Ananya. Finally, the young couple have been able to convince the parents from both sides through their strategic and intentional behaviour and activities. Cultural study has been adopted to analyze the novel.en_US
