Spoken English at Tourist Spots

Abstract

The titleofthepresent researchis 'Spoken English at Tourist Spots of PokharaValley'. This studyaimedto find out thefeaturesof English spoken at touristspots of Pokhara valley.This study aimed to find outthe English language ofNepali speakers in terms ofsentence pattern, language functions andvocabularies.To achieve the objectives, the researcher himself visited thedifferent places of Pokhara valley. He recorded twenty-five speech events fromthe spots. The omission of auxiliaries has been found most frequent whileomission of nouns and possessives have been found least frequent. Similarly, afew Nepali words were used instead of its English equivalents. The study is divided into four different chapters. The first chapter deals withthe general background,review of the related literature, objectives andsignificance of the study. In the same way, the second chapter includes themethodology adopted for the study under which the primary and secondarysources ofdata, population of the study, tools of data collection,process ofdatacollection and limitations of the study.The third chapter consists of analysisand interpretation of data. The fourth chapter consists of the findings andrecommendations. The final chapter is followed by appendices.
