English used in Television News: A Case of Nepal Television

Abstract

The present research study entitled "English Language Used in Television News: A Case of Nepal Television" aims at finding out the pronunciation, syntax and vocabulary used in the NTV news. This research study was done by the researcher using primary and secondary sources of data. After the study and analysis it is found that there are some differences in the language, vocabulary, pronunciation and syntax, used in NTV News. The research study has been divided into four chapters as follows: The first chapter of the study deals with the introduction part which deals with the general background, role of English in mass media types of Mass media, the news telecast, the impact of mass media in Nepal review of the related literature, objectives of the study, significance of the study etc. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the study. The sources of data, sampling procedure, limitations of the study and etc are included in this chapter. Chapter three is the main part of the study which includes analysis and interpretation of the data. The last chapter encompasses with the findings and recommendations made after the analysis of the data.
